Intermediate women’s leadership training held in Taunggyi

The intermediate level of Women’s Leadership Training under She Leads Program was held from May 12 to May 16, 2018. 27 alumnae from Kayah, Southern Shan, and Eastern Shan States and Nay Pyi Taw Region attended the training. We Stand Together for More Women Leaders (Twe Let Nyi Nyi) Campaign held Kachin State

Ma Nang, one of She Leads participants who completed basic and intermediate Women’s Leadership Training, shared what she learnt from the training with 59 participants from all townships in Kachin State and organized a We Stand Together campaign for more women leaders (Twe Let Nyi Nyi) at Washaung Thitalayanthi Monastery, Kachin State from May 6 to 8, 2018. YCT initiated a movement campaign to promote more women’s representation and leadership in politics and decision-making in Myanmar. Module 1 Women Leadership Training Module held in Tanintharyi

Module 1 Women’s Leadership Training Module was organized by Yaung Chi Thit in Myeik, Tanintharyi from April 24 to April 27, 2018. The training was joined by 32 women aged between 18 and 45 from Bokpyin, Kawthaung, Kyunsu, Tanintharyi, Dawei, Thayetchaung, Yephyu, Launglone, Palaw, and Myeik townships in Tanintharyi. Yangon Municipal Election Campaign (2019)

Yaung Chi Thit is a member of Election Reform Coordination Body (ERCB) and ERCB members; Horn Bill, MYAFREL, MILI, Phan Tee Eain, PJM and YCT involved in Yangon Municipal Election process for 2019 by raising awareness trainings and campaigns. In March 18, 21 and 22, 2019, ERCB educated and shared about voter’s knowledge, distributed pamphlets to community people at Mayangon (constituency 6), Hlaing Tharyar and Insein (constituency 5) in order to increase the knowledge of voters and the numbers of voter turnout. … Read more...


International Women’s Day organized jointly

In recognition of International Women’s[  Day on March 8, 2018, an event was jointly organized by 50 Civil Society Organizations including Yaung Chi Thit on March 10, 2018 at Maha Bandula Park in Yangon. The event started with an opening speech by Yangon Region Social Affairs Minister, U Naing Ngan Linn, followed by poem recitations, drama, songs, panel discussions, and giving awards to football teams of the football tournament held in commemoration of International Women’s Day. Many different organizations sold products of their respective organizations, distributed leaflets and carried out campaigns in the form of exhibitions at the event.

International Women’s Day event in Chin state

Yaung Chi Thit and the Department of Social Welfare (DSW-Tedim) collaborated and organized the International Women’s Day event in Tedim Township, in Chin State on 8 March 2018. In the event, Daw Neik Kame Lyan (Head of Office, Chin State, DSW) gave an opening speech to the participants and then a panel discussion was held, led by alumnae sharing their experiences. We Stand Together (Twe Let Nyi Nyi ) Campaign at Thapyaypyinsu Village, Monwya

We Stand Together for More Women Leaders (Twe Let Nyi Nyi) Campaign was conducted by She Leads alumnae on February 4, 2018 at Maha Zawtikayama Pali University where the 38th ceremony of Paying Homage to the teachers and Award giving to the outstanding students was being held. With the support of the teachers, 9 men and 16 women participated in the Twe Let Nyi Nyi (We Stand Together) campaign.
